December 30, 2018Astrology of Tuesday, January 1st 2019
January 1, 2019Monday sees the waning Moon in Scorpio aspect the Sun and then Saturn in Capricorn. The day softy shines on the situation as-it-is—low energy and pragmatic.
Evening, however, sees Mars enter fiery Aries. At home in the Ram’s sign, Mars is at its full potency there. Mars in Aries is unfiltered, archetypal Mars—the gladiatorial champion, the conqueror, the adrenaline-fueled badass. It pushes the pace and raises the stakes. Raining gasoline, it powers engines and starts conflagrations. It is a boon for the children of Mars, but a loud, ongoing irritation for those who prefer a more gentle mode of being. Mars will be in Aries until February 14th, 2019.
The Moon makes a pleasantly intoxicating trine with Neptune during New Year’s evening, providing adequate skies for the annual ritual of indulgence. The Sun’s pending conjunction to Saturn weighs on the night, though, as it provides a gravity which levity must attain escape velocity to overcome.
