Astrology of Saturday, February 9th 2019

The first portion of Saturday is weighed down by the rowdy Moon in Aries’ square with heavy Saturn in Capricorn. The tone changes during the afternoon, though, as the Moon moves from friction with Saturn into harmony with celebratory Jupiter. Meanwhile, Mercury in Aquarius’ electric sextile with Uranus in Aries may spark ideas, insights or contention.

Jupiter’s big mood carries well into the night, although the Moon’s wee hours square with Pluto in Capricorn steals some of the wind from its wings.

Late-late, Mercury slips into Pisces. Mercury is considered to have a difficult time in Pisces, as the psychedelic seas of the Fishes’ sign tend to bend straight lines into spirals, making the simple more challenging than it ought to be. Mercury retrograde-esque phenomena, such as missed flights, drowned smartphones and forgotten emails are all common during the messenger’s passage through Pisces. The planet’s position is, however, favorable for works of poetry and imagination, which do not depend so heavily on the linear. Due to March’s Mercury retrograde, the tricky planet will be in Pisces for an unusually long time this year. Mercury will swim with the Fishes until April 16th.
