The Sun and retrograde Mercury conjoin today at 28 Cancer. This moment is the dead center of Mercury’s retrograde, and the point where Mercury sits directly between the Sun and the Earth. Called the “inferior” conjunction, it is the heart of the Messenger’s underworld journey, the discovery of that nether-realm’s innermost sanctum. It is a time of unusual clarity. Meditative, contemplative, and other mental practices are greatly empowered during this moment of temporarily unmuddied waters.
The day proceeds on very pleasant lines. The Moon in Pisces trines Venus in Cancer mid-day, helping to resolve some of the last week’s emotional difficulties. The Moon then swings its silver rays back to the Sun and Mercury, reaffirming the insights which emerged earlier. Finally, during the wee hours, Luna moves into Aries, picking up the pre-dawn pace and readying us for the Sun’s movement into bright Leo tomorrow.
