Astrology of Friday, September 29th

There are several significant bits of celestial action this Friday. The first, and probably most important, is the Moon in Capricorn’s re-activation of the Jupiter-Uranus opposition. Look for the same tensions which emanated from the opposition a few days ago, such as those between fast vs. slow growth, and revolutionary vs. reformatory fixes.

Meanwhile, Venus in Virgo perfectly opposes Neptune in Pisces. This configuration, on one hand, pushes people to forgive and forget— to dissolve grievances. One the other, the Venus-Neptune opposition can blur relationships, making it easy to overlook things. There is a lack of clarity here, yet the fuzzy image can sometimes allow us to appreciate the story in a way that the high-definition close-up on an actor’s pores does not.

Mercury changes signs during the latter half of the day, entering Libra. In Libra, Mercury fixates on the relationships between people, both individually and sociologically. Smooth words and difficult-to-pin-down positions are characteristic of Mercury in Libra, as is a keen awareness of how a message will likely be received. In the sign of the scales, Hermes blesses designers, diplomats, lawyers and social scientists. Mercury will be in Libra until October 17^th.

The Moon, after entering airy Aquarius during the evening, encounters and activates Mercury in his new abode, making the communicative and cognitive shift implied by Mercury’s ingress clear.
