Monday is host to a partial lunar eclipse in Aquarius, which will be visible eastern Europe, Africa, Asia and Australia. Though those in the Western hemisphere won’t see it, the day is nonetheless haunted by the lunation.
This eclipse is the first of this series to take place in Aquarius with Ketu, the South Node of the Moon. The shadow which falls across the Moon creates an emptiness into which we might toss that which we no longer need. Failing conscious cooperation on our part, we may find that emptiness is more like a vacuum, pulling away what we think we want.
This eclipse, in particular, asks that we let go of our attachment to silence and distance. The
safety of not speaking, of not being seen, the security of being distant — out of reach — may be the sacrifice necessary to make room for the solar excess the eclipse on the 21st is due to deliver.
