Friday is host to one of the year’s most dramatic configuration s— a total Lunar Eclipse conjunct red, retrograde Mars. The Eclipse can be seen in East Africa, the Middle East, Central and South Eurasia, yet it can be felt everywhere.
This is an Eclipse on the Tail of the Dragon, Ketu, and thus speaks of release and letting go. There is a purgative quality to it. Yet purging, cleaning, means bringing what is dirty and gross to the surface. The body cleans itself by expelling what is toxic. Thus while the effect of the Eclipse is cleansing, the process of cleaning involves getting down on your knees and getting up close and personal with the dirt.
Being conjoined retrograde Mars, this Eclipse is quite capable of bringing feelings of rage and powerlessness to the surface. There is thus an alchemical opportunity to neutralize or transmute this potent poison cocktail.
Although the day and hour when the Lunar Eclipse takes place is certainly important, the release and transmutation Lunar Eclipses augur often take until the next Full Moon to be complete. Consider the Eclipse the initiation of a process, rather than as a stand-alone event.
On a side note, this is not a standard Full Moon, and is quite unsuitable for desirous works of abundance and manifestation. Do not grasp with the hand. Instead, open it.
