Astrology of Wednesday, October 11th

Mars in Virgo squares Saturn in Sagittarius today, closing a vice which has been slowly tightening in the background for a week now. Together, Mars and Saturn are harsh, and bring a variety of unpleasant events and unhappy moods. Yet they also shine a fierce light on the virtues of determination and industriousness.

There is a strong dissonance between Wednesday’s hard Mars-Saturn square and soft Moon in Cancer. While Mars and Saturn push noses toward grindstones, the avoidant Moon seeks comfort and pleasing illusion. After a day of mixed influence, the Moon will rise half-full and herald our entrance into the falling action of the 4^th and final lunar quarter.
