Eavesdropping on Tony Mack & Austin Coppock

Eavesdropping on Tony Mack & Austin Coppock

Welcome to Eavesdropping at Midnight, a series of conversations between myself and other practitioners of astrology, magic, and alchemy. Although it is, in some sense, a podcast, it won’t be coming out weekly, but as opportunities for good conversations present themselves and as schedules allow.

This project was born out of the desire to share some of the late-night conversations I’ve had with my peers. I’ve learned so much from comparing notes and swapping stories with people deep into the wee hours and wanted to pass that on. Furthermore, I am lucky enough to know a lot of amazing people, and a number of them aren’t already all over the internet, podcasting their hearts out. This project is an invitation to enter a casual but rich conversational space and see what emerges.

My partner in conversation for this, the very first episode of Eavesdropping at Midnight, is none other than Mr. Tony Mack.

Tony is a professional jeweler and metalsmith based in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, who specializes in working with clients on a one-to-one basis to create custom pieces in perfect alignment with their intention. More than a few of those pieces happen to be talismans.

Tony is also fine astrologer and a finer astrological magician. His combination of skills makes him an exemplar of the celestial art — a practitioner who makes a regular practice of uniting heaven and earth, star and stone.

I’ve known and worked with Tony for almost a decade now, and couldn’t be happier that he’s my first guest ever. We tossed a couple stories back and forth, and had a great chat about the finer points of astrological magic. Enjoy.

Great show. I wanted more! Haha.

You guys started to talk about slow vs fast moving planets with respect to talismanic manifestation speed (I think) and then got distracted and never went back to it. Do you remember what you were going to say or if there’s any important observations along those lines?

    Sweet!
Just added your RSS feed to PlayerFM. I think that means other users can find it there now too. Might be worth seeing if other podcast aggregators work in a similar way, and what metadata your feed sends out. Right now, there’s an empty space for a description, and just the logo. Gordon White is probably all over this for his show – bug him about it. That how I found you in the first place.

I hope that these will become available on iTunes. That is primarily where I listen to podcasts. However, I am very excited about this project and am happy to receive them by email.

I love hearing about Kung fu as an amateur and hearing about it in astrological and magical contexts. Thanks to you and Tony for this!

I loved this! Any advice for where a newby could see if any particular elections are a good idea or workable? It sounds like the group you were in is gone?
    Thanks!

So true what you said about pig-headed Jupiter! Decades before hearing of Ashwini horse doctors I dreamed very clearly of being healed by two horse headed doctors.

    Hi Austin,

I really like the Eavesdropping conversation, hope more happen soon!

Also wondering if you have ever listened to Chris Brennan’s astrocasts at 1.5 speed instead of regular?

    cheers.

Awesome discussion, what a treat to have so much martial arts discussion! I’m a Chen Style Taijiquan (not Cheng Men Qing style) and martial qigong practitioner and teacher, I have Mercury in Aries as well (and Sun and Saturn all combust in the 3rd decan of Aries), and Pisces moon, Jupiter in Virgo, Gemini rising, Mars in Sag. I have used jiao before, I’m really interested in your enchanted jiao, if you wind up selling some please let me know. I am fascinated by the Martial Arts/ Astrology connection. I just signed up for the Fundamentals class, really excited for that!
