Astrology 24th-30th: Itchy Old Skin
October 25, 2011Astrology Nov. 7th-13th: Engage Stabilizers
November 7, 2011This week the waxing Moon looks over an increasingly enthusiastic set of celestial circumstances. On Wednesday morning, Venus and Mercury enter Sagittarius, exciting the passions and uplifting the tone of communications. Meanwhile, Mars in Leo closes in on opposition to Neptune in Aquarius, temporarily diffusing conflicts. This week sees a set of influences take shape that will characterize the path for the first 3 weeks of November, before the road forward doubles back on itself. It’s a good start, but just that.
Venus into Sagittarius: Hunting Hearts
Late night on Tuesday, November 1st, Venus emerges from the underworld tunnels of Scorpio, striding into the open skies of Sagittarius’ flat plains. As Venus strides into Sagittarius, the goddess of affection and attraction becomes a huntress. The heart a bow, the passions fly like arrows, streaking toward visions of desire.
Venus in Sagittarius is positive and excitable. Fantasies of speed, action and mastery characterize the bullseyes her arrows find. Venus in Sagittarius has a special proclivity toward the aesthetics of film, television and video games- the moving image. For Venus in Sag is active- it is the goddess desirous of chase. The super heroine side of the anima, she dances behind the veil of the comic book page. To be fair, the fantastic desires in play here often lend Venus in Sag a connection to the ridiculous, but often in a fun way. Like cosplay.
Venus in Sagittarius also connects people through a shared visions of excellence. The principles of mastery can unite those who are otherwise dissimilar. Venus, horse-legged and wielding cupid’s bow, roams the plains of Sagittarius until November 26th, when she enters Capricorn.
Mercury into Sagittarius: Speaking Into A Telescope
Hot on Venus’ heels, Mercury emerges from decadent mysteries of Scorpio and into the great vistas of Sagittarius on Wednesday morning. In Sagittarius, Mercury opens up the mind to the grand and universal, or at least the symbols thereof. The price of this is nearsightedness, where it becomes easy to ignore or lose track of what’s directly in front of you. Mercury will be in Sagittarius, with telescopes for eyes, for the rest of year, not moving into Capricorn until January of 2012. The reason Mercury will be in Sagittarius for so long is because there’s retrograde is just around the corner, which begins November 23rd and ends on December 13th.
Mercury and Venus Conjunction: Hermaphroditic Half Horse Action
Mercury and Venus not only change signs nearly simultaneously, but will be travelling in lock-step for the next several weeks. This half horse couple will inspire a variety of visions of the future, synthesizing our thoughts, feelings, ideas and energies toward the future’s possibilities. This is a visionary combination, but many of the plans laid during this time will need serious revision when Mercury turns retrograde later in the month. By all means explore what could be, but avoid making commitments before November’s last days reveal the drawbacks, obstacles and errors in thinking which go unseen.
Mars in Leo Opposes Neptune in Aquarius: Diffusion
As the week wanders on, Mars in Leo moves into an opposition with Neptune in Aquarius. This configuration fuzzes out the directed, kinetic of Mars, which has both positive and negative effects. On one hand, Neptune’s opposition makes it difficult to know exactly where to direct one’s energy. On the other, Neptune’s mist puts out Mars’ temper, mollifying tempers and seeding some forgiveness. There is a cessation of conflicts here, yet the peace may well be illusionary. Thursday’s Moon in Aquarius conjoins Neptune, further empowering the diffusion of conflicts and leading into Friday and Saturday’s spacey Pisces Moon.
Horoscopes
Horoscopes are not a real chart reading by an experienced astrologer. However, they are fun and can be reasonably accurate. In addition to referring to your Sun sign, read your from Ascendant and Moon if you know them. If you don’t, find out. I’m a long time fan of the free chart generation software at astro.com.
