Astrology 4/9-4/15: Quenching The Blade
April 10, 2012Venus Retrograde in Gemini
April 20, 2012The Moon wanes its way toward invisibility over resetting circumstances. The week begins with Mercury’s re-entry into Aries, the sign the swift planet turned retrograde in back in March. Mercury spends the week moving into a conjunction with Uranus, conjoining the electric planet on Sunday. On Thursday morning, the Sun strides onto the spring fields of Taurus. The Moon catches the Sun late Friday night, ending one lunar cycle and seeding the next. Even with the surprises suggested by Mercury’s conjunction with Uranus, it is a more mellow week than we’ve had in a while. Yet there is a wind in the fields, its message of coming change written in the bent grass.
Mercury’s Meeting
On Monday, April 16th Mercury returns to Aries after a long retrograde in Pisces. The messenger’s movement back into Aries brings the mind to bear on courses of action and helps put derailed trains of thought back on track. Mercury spends the rest of the week making his way toward a Sunday conjunction with Uranus, seeding the week with surprising changes of plan, both fair and foul. The Moon’s conjunction with the pair on Wednesday highlights the mentally volatile mix.
This is actually the third conjunction that Mercury has made with Uranus this year, and thus the plans in play this week are the natural completion of the innovative ideas and radical changes of direction flirted with back in early March.
Nandi’s Turf
The Sun wanders into the placid pastures of Taurus on Thursday the 19th. This ingress takes the Sun from Mars’ rough terrain into the same sign as Jupiter, who has been been in Taurus for the last 10 months. This shift skews things in a more mellow and benevolent direction.
The Moon catches the newly ingressed Sun in Taurus on Friday night. The New Moon in Taurus plants the seed of a stabilizing lunar cycle with an emphasis on the implementation of new ideas. This New Moon begins a relatively solid couple weeks, with opportunities to make progress on projects delayed by the last 2 month’s events. This relatively clear window lasts until the first week of May, as by then Venus will almost ready to take her turn retrograde. Consider the coming weeks a chance to solidify the changes you’ve been struggling with.
Horoscopes
Horoscopes are not a real chart reading by an experienced astrologer. However, they are fun and can be reasonably accurate. In addition to referring to your Sun sign, read your from Ascendant and Moon if you know them. If you don’t, find out. I’m a long time fan of the free chart generation software at astro.com.
