Thursday’s daylight hours are host to a nice mutually received aspect between exalted Venus in Pisces and the Moon in Taurus — also in its exaltation. Slow and steady goes the first day of the new lunar month. If you would give a project a firm foundation, begin it today.
With sunset, though, the Moon moves into Gemini, and there encounters hot Mars. Thus while the day held slow, silken touches, the night’s hands are rough and busy. Irritations and inflammations are always a threat while the Moon conjoins Mars, so keep an eye on tempers.

Tuesday begins with the waning Moon’s conjunctions to Mercury and then Uranus in Aries, sparking conversation and ideas. After the Moon’s mid-day visit with these two bodies, Luna moves on to make a responsible trine with Saturn, bringing energy levels down.
After night falls, the exhausted Moon enters Taurus, whose slow pace is likely to come as a relief. The Moon hides tonight, entering its dark phase in preparation for the New Moon in the Bull’s sign.

The skies today are relatively uneventful. The Moon in Aries kindles a flame, but with so little light remaining in the waning Moon, it’s a candle running out of wax. Luna spends the majority of the day approaching an opposition with Jupiter in Libra, which it completes during the evening. There is a small lift here, though it’s unlikely that you’ll find yourself soaring. Late night, the Moon’s beams shift from buoyant Jupiter to dark Pluto. If you happen to be animate during the wee hours, read a mystery, watch a horror movie, meditate on the void itself.

Sunday begins with Mars’ square to the nodal axis, putting him at odds with both the Head and the Tail of the dragon. The Nodes push and pull on the red planet, making it difficult to know what’s worth fighting for.
Meanwhile, the Moon in Pisces re-activates the square between Venus and Saturn, pointing again toward what necessities weigh on the heart, and how we might shoulder those burdens as lightly as possible. The Moon and Venus aren’t the only planets talking to Saturn. Retrograde Mercury in Aries completes a trine with the slow planet today, questioning the very obligations which Venus is being subjected to.
Around sunset, the Moon moves from oceanic Pisces to terrestrial Aries. That shift, and Luna’s evening sextile with Mars in Gemini, give the evening a feisty boost.

Friday sees thinking and feeling potentially at odds, with manic mental influences contrasting with heavy emotional ones. The day begins with the waning Moon in Aquarius’ sextile to retrograde Mercury in Aries, beginning the day with a dose of hot, bright mental energy. However, the atmosphere changes relatively quickly with Luna’s entrance into Pisces during the afternoon, transforming mobile air into sloshing water. The Moon encounters newly-ingressed Mars in Gemini shortly thereafter, whose manic energy is at odds with what the mellow Pisces Moon is trying to achieve. The mellow comes, but later, when the Moon sextiles the plodding Sun in Taurus. Evening stretches out this bit of harmony between the Sun and Moon with no further planetary action.

There’s a lot happening Thursday. The day begins with an uplifting trine between the Moon in Aquarius and Jupiter in Libra. However, Pluto makes its annual retrograde station today which sends a creepy bass note through the floorboards, drawing attention toward what may lie beneath. Mid-day, retrograde Mercury leaves the earthy pastures of Taurus for the fiery domain of the Ram’s pen. The messenger will be in Aries for the rest of the retrograde and beyond — until May 15th.
While Mercury regresses and Pluto stations, Venus in Pisces makes her third and final square with Saturn in Sagittarius, stretching our powers of acceptance and highlighting the burdens which we must learn to bear, hopefully with grace.
Finally, during the wee hours, Mars changes signs, entering Gemini. In the sign of the Twins, the red planet likes games and witty repartee. However, it also likes trying to do too many things at once. Distractions and overcommitment come all-too-easily here. Mars will be Gemini until June 4th.

Wednesday is host to both the Sun’s ingress into Taurus and the conjunction of Mercury and the Sun. The Sun enters Taurus during the afternoon hours. Here, the Sun’s light falls across practical matters and questions of value. Like Ferdinand the Bull, you may want to stop and smell the flowers. While you do, take a moment to think on things, as the Sun-Mercury conjunction today provides potential for deep clarity. As you survey the contents of your life, you may find that you’re not just looking at things, but through them, revealing their delicate interior structure.

Day breaks with the Moon conjunct Pluto in Capricorn, starting things off on a deep and potentially dark note. As the day lengthens, the mood becomes increasingly rebellious, due to the Moon’s sunset square with Uranus, who is itchy to be done with problems. The Moon-Uranus square may also disrupt plans, taking things in unexpected directions.
Night holds and hides a number of aspects. The Moon’s sextile with Venus in Pisces colors the first portion of the night, brushing beautiful but melancholy pastels across its surface. Later, the emphasis shifts to Mars, who adds darker reds to the palette.
During the wee hours the half-Moon squares the Sun in Aries, bringing the pace down and marking our entrance into the 4th quarter of the lunar month. Shortly afterward, the Moon ingresses into Aquarius to get some perspective on matters. Luna will take a step back from events for the next few days, creating some mental space to consider the direction things are going.

Monday has a heavy, Saturnian quality, courtesy of the Moon in business-like Capricorn and the Sun’s trine with Saturn. There is a certain enthusiasm for organization present, though the weight of obligations may be too-keenly felt.
The evening Moon’s sextile to Neptune dissolves some worries, making burdens less emotionally substantial. As night deepens, the Moon moves on to square Jupiter, but will likely be annoyed by the buoyant planet’s demands for positivity.

Today breaks on a set of potent aspects. The Moon trines the separating Uranus-Sun conjunction in Aries, striking a radiant spark. From there, the emphasis shifts to a Sun-Saturn trine, which grounds out the earlier brilliance, providing an opportunity to condense abstract visions into concrete plans.
Meanwhile, recently-direct Venus in Pisces and Mars in Taurus make a lovely sextile, offering the potential for harmony between the planets of love and war. Relationships may experience a “click” as new patterns switch gears.
As the afternoon winds down, the Moon enters earthy Capricorn, further grounding out the day in practical concerns. Such matters become increasingly important as the Moon completes a trine with retrograde Mercury in Taurus, highlighting the reconfiguration of expectations and plans.

Thursday’s intensity is the perfect complement to Wednesday’s lazy flow. The Sun and Uranus conjoin in Aries, radiating a brilliant but unstable light across the day. Visions of freedom abound, as do rebellions against business-as-usual.
Meanwhile, the Moon in Scorpio spends most of the day approaching an opposition with Mars in Taurus. This a turbulent combination, and may make for some very sour moods. Nonetheless, there is some reception between the two, and if you can avoid getting stuck in the muddier parts of the day’s terrain, there is a fixed, determined quality which may be of benefit.
After nightfall, the Moon’s attentions shift from Mars to Venus. The Moon in Scorpio trines Venus in Pisces. This contact may facilitate some profound moments, as Venus is in her degree of exaltation and only one day away from stationing direct.

Sunday begins with the Moon’s ingress into Libra, blowing a lungful of fresh air into the ether. Saturday’s complications may still be present, but less immediately so. The Moon in the Scale’s sign tasks us with balance, which is somewhere between criticism and affirmation, depression and ecstasy. The importance of equilibrium is especially foregrounded by the fact that the Moon has gotten so big, so silver, so ripe, that she’ll be completely Full in but a day.
While the almost-Full Moon in Libra spotlights both sides of the coin, Mercury stations retrograde. The tricksy planet turns on its heel at 4’49” Taurus, with plans to walk backward until May 3rd. Retrograde Mercury shuns the highway for the backroad, and the front door for the secret entrance. Take the scenic route, and don’t forget to stop and eat the mushrooms along the way.

Friday begins with the Mercury-ruled Virgo Moon’s trine with almost-retrograde Mercury in Taurus. Needless to say, this makes Friday prime time for Mercury retrograde hijinks. Yet it’s also an opportunity to identify such problems and to nip them in the bud.
While the Moon and Mercury expose faulty wiring, the Sun in Aries opposes Jupiter in Libra. This opposition sees Jupiter rise bright and close at sunset, but at cross purposes with the Sun. Allow yourself to reflect critically on plans for growth, yet do not give up on a better life or better self.
Finally, during the evening hours, the Moon makes an opposition to Neptune, which troubles clarity and blunts precision. Keep your Friday night plans simple, with room for intoxication.

The Moon in Leo spends most of Wednesday chasing a trine with the Sun in Aries. The aspect is not complete until the night hours, but nonetheless colors much of the day. It is a moment of harmony between the Sun and the Moon, though with the Moon being in Leo it is of an overwhelmingly solar quality. Rise, shine and preside over the day. In addition to the solar power emanating throughout Wednesday, Mars’ trine with Pluto is also active, useful for determined efforts of all sorts.
Night sees both the Moon’s trine to the Sun and Mars’ trine to Pluto completed. Yet it also holds Saturn’s retrograde station, and Luna’s rough square with Mars. Sunday begins on a difficult note. The morning hours see the Moon in Gemini make an exhausted opposition to Saturn in Sagittarius. Early risers may have a hard time greeting the day with cheer. The Moon’s entrance into Cancer mid-day changes the tone significantly, though. The Cancer Moon counsels us to take refuge in some comfortable niche or another to deal with any in-process feelings retrograde Venus brings up. As the afternoon continues, things get a bit chattier and more playful, courtesy of the Moon’s sextile to Mercury in Taurus.
The hours around sunset hold the day’s most lasting shift, as retrograde Venus returns to Pisces. Scorched hearts here find themselves washed in deep waters. Venus’ regress into Pisces, and the corresponding change in tone, will play in the background for most April, as Venus will not consent to leave the Fishes’ sign until the 27th.

April begins with a nice bit of harmony between the Sun and Moon. The sextile between the Sun in Aries and the Moon in Gemini does some of the alchemical work for us, braiding gold and silver into a pleasant, if temporary, weave. Though there is harmony between the Sun and the Moon, the Moon is less at ease with Neptune, which Luna squares immediately after the pleasant sextile with the Sun. Thus the morning hours, though relatively harmonious, may be a bit foggy.
After the Moon departs from its early morning moment with the Sun, it drives toward a similarly pleasing trine with Jupiter in Libra, which gives the rest of the day a lift it would otherwise lack. The night hours see Luna shift her attention from uplifting Jupiter to intense Uranus, which might trigger mutations in some plans, but quite possibly for the better.

The Moon conjoins Mars in Taurus on Thursday morning, starting the day off on a potentially irritating note. Mars is easier to deal with when you pick a task and focus on its completion. Concerted labor of this sort is often more than sufficient to appease the red planet.
Yet there are bigger things happening in the background. Jupiter in Libra completes the second of three exact squares to Pluto in Capricorn today. This aspect brings up questions of fairness in relationships both personal and collective. As the first installment of the Jupiter-Pluto square arrived late last November, you may want to think back to the status of justice that week.
