The Moon is well and truly void-of-course for all of today, making it a poor time to initiate projects or attempt to build momentum. Yet while the Moon wanders alone, retrograde Mercury and Mars in Aries complete a square. This interface between the Mercurial and the Martial superheats thought-patterns, and may drop a Molotov into conversations. Though socially the theme is friction, there is also a ferociously constructive, engineering-minded, problem-solving quality to this configuration. Though the Mercury-Mars square is exact today, its influence is more or less constant throughout July, as the two will be traveling in a synchronized manner for the rest of the month, and have another exact conjunction planned for the 27th.Horoscopes & Ongoing Influences

After a heavy, haunted weekend, Monday is a nice change of pace. The Moon in Aquarius spends the day in friendly configurations to both Mars and Venus— a relatively fun, peppy cocktail. Night, though, brings a tonal change, courtesy of the Moon-Uranus square, which resets the energy with an etch-a-sketch shake.Horoscopes & Ongoing Influences

Sunday continues what Saturday night’s eclipse started. Though it begins with a briefly foggy sextile to Neptune, the Moon spends the rest of the day conjoining the trio of planets in Capricorn. First is Jupiter and Pluto, which look to find some lesson in the mess, some treasure in the tragedy. Later, the Moon moves onto conjoin Saturn, which brings a stonier vision of Necessity— what we simply must accept, for now, in order to progress. Late-late night, Luna leaves Capricorn behind in order to prepare for tomorrow’s fresh inspection of now Saturn-free Aquarius.Horoscopes & Ongoing Influences

The first part of the day sees the Moon in Capricorn opposite retrograde Mercury in Cancer, highlighting whatever tangled thoughts and logistics the retro has been playing with. This is followed by a nice, pattern-breaking trine to Uranus in Taurus, which may offer some fresh solutions to muddle issues.
The day’s main dish, however, is most certainly the penumbral lunar eclipse tonight. There is only a small spattering of shadow on the surface of the bright moon- nothing compared to late June’s almost perfect solar eclipse- but it is an eclipse nonetheless. It is, significantly, the last eclipse on the Cancer-Capricorn axis that we’ll have for most of a decade. With tonight’s installment, we complete the cycle of Goat and Crab eclipses we’ve been working since 2018. That it occurs on the birthday of the United States is an unsubtle omen, whose implications hardly need teasing out.
The stained lunation’s mixed light falls across wasteland panoramas, toppled buildings, graveyards, and other temples to the inexorability of time. It is a night for calling back our spirit from the ruins which grief would tempt us to haunt forever. It is a night for untying knots, cutting cords, and burning old photographs. A somber Moon, it is better suited to fasting than feasting.Horoscopes & Ongoing Influences

Friday begins with the Moon’s square to Neptune, which may make the day a slow-starter. The dream-fog lifts, but slowly, as the Moon moves from the square to Neptune to a conjunction with Ketu, the Tail of the Dragon. Luna’s crossing of this eclipse-point around sunset could be considered the gateway into the strange territory of a lunar eclipse weekend.
Shortly after the conjunction with the Tail, the Moon enters Capricorn, and then spends the rest of the night in a tight square with red-hot Mars in Aries. Careful with that temper, and remember to blow out the candles before you lay thee down to sleep.Horoscopes & Ongoing Influences
