In an attempt to keep it positive, the Moon waxes through sunny Leo today. Such efforts are likely be successful, due to the easy sextile between the Moon and Jupiter in Libra, which buoys the atmosphere.
As night falls, Luna’s attentions shift to Venus, who interweaves a variety of hungers into the fabric of the evening. Those who seek pleasure here are likely to find it, though satisfaction may be more illusive.

The first part of Sunday is characterized by the Moon in Cancer’s square with disruptive Uranus in Aries, which may trigger unexpected changes of plan or emotional state. During the afternoon, though, Luna enters Leo, which shifts the ambiance in a sunnier direction. Some problems of the heart only need a bit of sunlight to evaporate. Meanwhile, Mars in Cancer completes a trine with Neptune in Pisces, further helping to diffuse irritations.

The first day of the new lunar cycle makes the emotional challenges it will bring clear. The Moon conjoins Mars in Cancer mid-day, just as Mars perfects a square to Jupiter in Libra. The game here is to keep troubled emotions and connections from ruining the positive potentials offered by Jupiter. One of the difficulties here is that whatever anger or hurt Mars in Cancer brings up tends to be the kind held close to the vest, or perhaps inside it, making it difficult to get at and remediate the source of pain or unhappiness. Be patient with others’ moods, and try to extend the same favor to yourself.

Friday plays host to the New Moon in Cancer. Unwind a bit— make enough space for your feelings, as it will be the intimacies etched into their fabric which will characterize the coming weeks. The Mercury-Mars configurations during the rest of June and in early July will act as emotional purgatives, and the less poison you have in your system, the less likely that you’ll find yourself possessed by violent heaves.
In addition to washing out the toxic, make time to think about heals you, nurtures you, feeds you. Check your umbilical connection to that source, and make sure it’s in good working order.

A very-waning Moon in Gemini trines Jupiter, then squares Neptune today. Thursday afternoon is thus subject to jollity, followed by a touch of confusion or fogginess. It is a pleasant enough day, but may be lacking in energy due to the phase of the Moon, which will not rise tonight.

Wednesday begins with the conjunction of Mercury and the Sun. This moment, the superior conjunction, sees Mercury in line with the Earth, but on the far side of the Sun. Here the swift planet acts like a telescope, extending the mind’s reach outward, to the edges of mental space. The breadth of this vision provides an opportunity for reflection and insight.
This key moment in Mercury’s cycle just so happens to occur on the day of Mercury, and furthermore, the Moon shifts into Mercury-ruled Gemini during the afternoon, lending further support to this type of telescope-gazing. You would be remiss to not reserve a little time to consider and converse on this rather significant alignment.

Tuesday begins with the waning Moon in Taurus’ sextile with Mars in Cancer. Some irritations may come with this morning aspect, but those are likely to be quickly washed away by the Moon’s subsequent sextile with Neptune in Pisces. Things improve further with the Moon’s lovely afternoon conjunction with Venus in Taurus, a jewel of good fortune set into the gold of the day.
Tuesday evening has the honor of hosting the Sun’s annual ingress into Cancer, which marks the solstice. In Cancer, the Sun’s rays fall upon the tender, intimate and emotional, and illuminate the dynamics by which all created things are nurtured. The Sun will be in Cancer until July 22nd.
Mercury cross the same boundary only hours later, entering the Crab’s sign during the wee hours of night. Mercury will shift communications and cogitations toward the tender territory of the Crab’s interior until its ingress into the Lion’s sign on July 5th.

Bright, electric energies wash through the first half of Monday. The Moon in Aries runs through a quick quartet of aspects to Saturn, Mercury, Uranus and the Sun, lighting up the ideas and insights which have been processing over the last several days. Breakthroughs, solutions and remedies are at hand for those who bother to reach.
Things shift significantly after the Moon’s afternoon ingress into Taurus, though. The pace slows, becoming increasingly leisurely as day moves toward night. Though evening may hold a scattering of bright insights, it is decidedly diffuse and relaxed. Ground out in the pleasure of food or other creaturely comforts.

The Moon slides out of this conjunction later, moving toward an afternoon square with swift Mercury in Gemini, emphasizing the importance of separating fact from fantasy, and words from the experiences they describe.
As night falls, Saturn looms, pressing down with the weight of commitments and responsibilities. It may be difficult to find the carefree release many expect from a Friday night. Thursday sees the Moon flow through Pisces, though the afternoon’s trine with Mars in Cancer may boil the otherwise lazy current. Though irritations and anxieties may emerge, they do so in order to be washed away. After sunset, the Moon moves on to a beautiful, mutually received sextile with luxurious Venus in Taurus. This configuration, in particular, provides the basis for a pleasurable reprieve from the seriousness of the ongoing aspects with Saturn.
Meanwhile, Neptune stations retrograde. The blue planet’s annual retrograde phase asks us to become more critical of the stories we’ve been telling ourselves and the dreams we’ve been enacting. Though it may pop some bubbles, Neptune’s retrograde phase is not an assault on fantasy, it is a harvest thereof — a sorting of the wheat from the chaffe. Neptune’s retrograde phase will last until November 22nd.

The Sun and Saturn oppose perfectly today, and the Moon attends faithfully to them both. Saturn will rise in the east at sunset, its brightest light falling upon the structure of responsibilities, commitments and limitations. Though some may find this sight depressing, it is a gift, for it makes clear the state of things and the work yet to be done.
Though it may be tempting, this is not a moment for self-judgment or disappointment about progress as-yet unrealized. Saturn does not watch over quick or simple works, but those which require labor and patience. Give your projects, and self, the time they truly require.

There is a tremendous mental energy about the day, and the ideas and communications are likely to fly fast and furious. Just one fact complicates this state of affairs, and that is Mercury’s exact square with Neptune. Neptune serves to muddy the ideas in circulating with an admixture of fantasy. Sunday’s skies are jammed with aspects. The Sun encounters Neptune by square today, blurring and bending its light. A level of ambient fuzziness or confusion may result.
Meanwhile, Mars leaves speedy Gemini, forsaking the Twins for the Crab. Mars is thought to have trouble expressing himself in the Cancer, as the nurturing intimacy of the Crab’s sign is inimical to the brash power of the red planet. Mars in Cancer also has the unfortunate tendency of exacerbating moody and passive aggressive tendencies. Mars will be in Cancer until July 20th.
Evening sees the Moon make a series of potent aspects, first a disciplined sextile with Saturn and then a dramatic opposition with the separating Venus-Uranus conjunction. Luna thus asks us to revisit whatever emotional break-downs or breakthroughs the Venus-Uranus conjunction brought over the weekend.

Venus’ pending conjunction with rebellious Uranus complicates this matter by emphasizing the importance of freedom and authenticity. Those keyed to these configurations will wrestle with what’s fun, what’s necessary and what’s true, with the contest likely left unresolved.

Saturday begins with the mellow Moon in Pisces’ square with sharp Mars in Gemini, which may make for an irritating morning, or at least one in which its hard to find the right balance between flow and force. After departing from contention with Mars, the Moon moves into a square with heavy, unyielding Saturn, which it does not complete until later in the evening. This puts Luna in a classic besiegement, between a rock and a hard place, and augurs poorly for projects undertaken this day.
While the Moon contends with Mars and Saturn, the Sun leaves Taurus, bidding goodbye to the sign’s pleasant pastures, as well as the bones buried beneath them. As the Sun enters Gemini, its spotlight shifts to the wild winds which race across and above terra firma. The Sun’s time with the Twins is good for curiosity, exploration and speed, and will last until the solstice, on June 20th.

Venus in Aries and Jupiter in Libra complete their opposition today. Together, these planets are the two benefics, the two goods — the lesser and the greater, the particular and the global. While Jupiter advocates for general well-being, Venus focuses on specific relationships and satisfactions. While in opposition they may argue, but they do so over what is best, and how we might obtain it.
This opposition occurs as Venus steps into fresh territory for the first time in months. There is thus a need to make peace with what’s happened and to move on to making the most of opportunities, some of which may have lain fallow while Venus’ dramatic retrograde dominated the foreground.
