The eve of the New Moon is slow and heavy. There are no precise planetary contacts today besides the Moon’s afternoon and evening conjunctions with dark Pluto and weighty Saturn in Capricorn. This does not make for a particularly joyous or fortunate set of skies. Best to bed early, as tomorrow’s dawn is brighter.Horoscopes & Ongoing Influences

The Capricorn Moon spends the first part of the day conjunct the Tail of the Dragon, giving the morning an atmosphere conducive to letting go and emptying out. The second half of the day, however, does a nice job of filling that space with input from soothing Venus in Pisces and conservatively ambitious Jupiter in Capricorn. Venus and Jupiter are themselves in a nice sextile today, and together offer humble positivity, workable solutions, and reasonable rewards.
Meanwhile, the Sun in Aquarius spends the day square Uranus in Taurus. You find yourself itchy to innovate, or otherwise restless with the way things are. It’s a good time to consider new patterns, though you’ll want to wait until the Moon is waxing again to implement them.Horoscopes & Ongoing Influences

The Moon spends the daylight in the hard last decan of Sagittarius, overseeing tiring efforts and necessary final pushes.
Later, come evening, the Moon enters Capricorn, planting feet on solid ground. A charge runs up the legs as we plug back into the earth, though. The Moon’s late-night trine with Uranus in Taurus runs an electric current through the wee hours, powering innovative, rebellious, and empowering dreams.

The Sun leaves Capricorn behind this morning, abandoning the stony-but-crumbling monoliths of established power for the abstract soup of probabilities carried by the Water-Bearer. Here we look upon the rules, not as they are, but could be. The Sun thus comes to Aquarius as a daydreaming legislator, full of ideas with uncertain implications. The Sun will be in Aquarius this year until February 18th.
Though the day begins with the Sun’s ingress, most of the daylight is dominated by the Moon’s inflammatory conjunction with Mars in Sagittarius. The fierce red star Antares also partakes of this conjunction, making it all the more fiery. Aim that fire at a task, not a person.
Fortunately, evening’s Moon-Neptune square puts out the day’s blazes, progressively mellowing the night hours.

The Moon spends much of Saturday in an anesthetic trine with Neptune in Pisces, smoothing the way for daydream and frictionless dereliction. The ambiance slowly hardens as the Neptune wears off, but does not change much until late night, when Luna’s sextiles with Saturn and Pluto plant feet back in the ground.
