Friday hosts the New Moon in Libra. The union of the Sun and Moon at 23 Libra finds them in a difficult spot, between the harsh rays of Mars, Pluto and Saturn. They are besieged together, and thus speak to a hard pair of weeks to come. Under such configurations we often must often yield our plans to Necessity, as circumstances leave us with less viable choices than normal. The pairing of the Sun and Moon in the third decan of Libra asks us find balance on swiftly tilting terrain. The equilibrium to be cultivated here is a dynamic one. It is the off-kilter balance of the drunken master, not the perfect, static equipoise of the hatha yoga adept.Horoscopes & Ongoing Influences

Thursday does not significantly alter the dynamics in play, though it may give us a little more time to work with them. The Sun continues its journey through the Mars-Pluto-Saturn gauntlet while the Moon, now waned down to nothing, gets ready to reset the lunar month tomorrow.Horoscopes & Ongoing Influences

Wednesday, being the planetary day of Mercury, does a good job showcasing what the agile planet’s recent retrograde pivot has in store. The Moon’s presence in Mercury-ruled Virgo further attests to the same. Plan on being ready to adapt to the standard host of Mercury retro cliches: rearranged schedules, re-routed travel, mixed messages, and connectivity errors. Meanwhile, the Sun in Libra is busy crossing the choppy space between Mars, Pluto, and Saturn, turning up the ambient difficulty level on virtually everything. Navigating these difficulties is very much the order of the day until, late night, the deeply-waned Moon enters Libra, seeking some sort of equilibrium.Horoscopes & Ongoing Influences

Though the Moon makes a number of exact aspects today, there are two celestial events which over-rule the rest. Mercury stations retrograde and the Sun and Mars make a perfect opposition. Though separate, these two are entirely entangled.
Retrograde Mars in Aries’ opposition with the Sun marks the dead center of the retrograde. It is the point at which Mars and the Earth are closest, Mars is brightest, and the red planet rises just as the Sun sets, and sets just as the Sun rises. While the Sun in Libra asks for balance, red Mars cries for conflict.
While the Sun and Mars play tug o’ war on opposite sides of the Earth, Mercury stations retrograde in Scorpio, a Mars-ruled sign. Mercury gives voice to Mars’ bellicose sentiments, here delivering messages which, like Mercury, change the direction that things will take.
From here until the 18th, the Sun will cross the harshed degrees between aspects to Mars, Pluto, and Saturn, while retrograde Mercury stumbles back into another opposition with Uranus. Today is thus the beginning of a particularly harsh stretch.Horoscopes & Ongoing Influences

Monday begins with the Moon in Leo’s trine to retrograde Mars in Aries, starting the day of with a mix of irritation and motivation. Shortly thereafter, almost-retrograde Mercury in Scorpio and Venus in Virgo perfect a sextile. This pairing is ideal for bridging the heart and the tongue. Yet Mercury’s tongue is sharp in Scorpio, and in Virgo, Venus has more critical observations than warm affirmations. This is a good configuration for articulating exactly what a problem is, but do go easy on those close to you.Horoscopes & Ongoing Influences
Come night, the Moon enters Virgo, in large part doubling down on the process of verbalization described by the Mercury-Venus sextile.
