The focus of today is the conjunction of Mercury and Jupiter, which occurs right next to the Tail of the Dragon.
Mercury and Jupiter is a sagely combination which unites the big picture and the actionable details. In Capricorn, it inspires practical contemplations. Being right next to the Dragon’s Tail, pull toward what can and should be let go of. Although it is certainly architectural, what is mapped here is less a pattern of construction and more a blueprint for absence. The teacher that speakers here is a sculptor, which cuts away at the stone to liberate the form trapped within.
Late night, Mars abandons Scorpio for Sagittarius. In the Archer’s sign, Mars rushes forward in pursuit of ideals, beliefs, and grand works. The goal, which resides just over the horizon, provides the bull’s eye and center of gravity. A vision of accomplishment hangs in the sky here, like an aurora borealis. This celebratory banner, though, tends to maintain its position on the horizon, never growing closer, for it is the image of ideal realized— a metaphysical contradiction. Yet its appearance is necessary, and powerful, for this burning vision provides the heat necessary for action. Mars will be in Sagittarius until February 16th.

The Moon spends the daylight in late Pisces, chasing a trine with fierce Mars in Scorpio. There is a restless energy about the day, a readiness to get to it. Aim yourself at a goal and flow relentlessly towards it. The evening’s ingress of the Moon into Aries brightens the tone, sharpening thoughts and stimulating minds in anticipation of tomorrow’s Mercury-Jupiter conjunctions.

Tuesday is dominated by the Moon’s conjunction with Neptune in Pisces. This is a dreamy, narcotic combination. It’s not suited to industry, but it’ll do just fine for a holiday largely defined by alcohol consumption.
There’s not much to contradict the blurry Neptune vibe until very, very late. Well after the clock strikes midnight, the Moon hits sextiles with Saturn and then Pluto, grounding matters in the first hours of a new decade.

The Moon enters Pisces early on Monday, catalyzing the exact trine between Mercury in Capricorn and Uranus in Taurus. The Mercury-Uranus trine aids in coming up with innovative but concrete solutions. These aren’t big fixes to big problems, but they are real fixes to real problems.
Due to the Mercury-Uranus trine, as well as the Moon’s evening sextile to Jupiter, this is an excellent day to spend with your 2020 blueprint.

The Moon drifts through Aquarius today, between last night’s conjunction with Venus and the late-late night square with Mars tonight. Things creep, ever-so-slowly, in a more restless, irritable direction.
Meanwhile, the Sun spends the day perfecting a conjunction the Dragon’s Tail. The Sun’s conjunction with this invisible but crucial node echoes the same less-is-more theme of the recent solar eclipse. Only empty hands can receive.
